MONITORING AND ENFORCEMENT
Pesticide registration, licensing and certification are ineffectual unless they are properly monitored and enforced. Most pesticide importers, distributors, sellers and applicators/users do not always consider the negative impacts of pesticides if improperly handled at various stages of their life cycle. Pesticides inspectors are therefore tasked to ensure that all stakeholders comply with the Pesticides Act.
Periodic inspections in areas where pesticides are stored, sold and applied are conducted in order to ensure that pesticides made available on the market are of both of good quality and applied correctly. In order to curb illegal entry of pesticides, the Board has pesticide inspectors at all key entry points across the country.
